New York, October 17, 2026 — Aziz Ahmad, Chairman of CodersTrust, delivered the opening remarks at the Alliance of South Asian American Labor (ASAAL)’s 19th Annual Convention, held at DC 37 in New York on October 17, 2026.

Addressing labor leaders, elected officials, community representatives, and young people, Mr. Ahmad spoke on the convention’s theme, “Our Vote, Our Voice, Our Strength, and Now, Our Skills,” highlighting the importance of digital skills development, workforce empowerment, and inclusive growth in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

Drawing on CodersTrust’s experience in digital skills training, Mr. Ahmad shared that more than 130,000 people have learned digital skills through its programs. He emphasized that accessible education and continuous reskilling are essential to helping workers adapt to technological change and access better economic opportunities.

He also called for responsible AI adoption, greater investment in education and healthcare, and stronger youth participation in community leadership. Stressing that technological progress should benefit workers across professions, he urged businesses and policymakers to ensure that automation empowers people rather than leaving them behind.

Mr. Ahmad concluded by encouraging convention participants to learn new AI skills, mentor young leaders, and actively engage in civic and community initiatives. His remarks reinforced the importance of equipping individuals with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
