Adaptation and Skill Advancement for a Pandemic Reality

CONTEXT

BRAC is the largest NGO of the world. The objective of the BRAC-funded pilot project “STRONG-IT” was to provide online training to 850 young people in Bangladesh and enhance their IT skills, in order to adapt to the new-normal world during COVID.

CHALLENGES

Difficulties in maintaining student engagement and motivation
Challenges in providing feedback without face-to-face interaction
Adapting to new technologies for instructors and learners
Lack of appropriate training materials and resources for online learning

CODERSTRUST SOLUTION

Provided additional training and support to learners to adapt them to new technologies and tools for digital literacy
Applied interactive sessions and collaborative techniques to ensure engagement and motivation among learners
Kept learners on track making progress through regular communication, Q&A sessions
Developed appropriate digital learning materials and resources that are accessible, interactive, and engaging, which helped learners understand better

RESULTS

Graduated Trainees: 850
Successful Job Placement: 476

Successful job placement during the course itself 20.85%
56% of them secured employment in different national and international marketplace and doing full time jobs.
Despite the lockdowns and social distancing measures in place during COVID-19, there have been great positive impacts on household income
Freelancing provided hope for our learners during the COVID-19 pandemic
